SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Flourish Education are seeking an adaptable SEND Teaching Assistant or HLTA to support a small group of Year 1 children at a Primary School in King’s Norton. This role is to start immediately and will continue until the end of the academic year, ideally on a full-time basis.
 
You will be supporting a group of 4 Year 1 children with SEND who are currently on pathways for ADHD and ASD. The aim is to keep the children accessing learning within the classroom, with a small group intervention space available when needed. The provision is set up similarly to a Reception environment, with access to outdoor space to support learning and regulation. You will work closely with the class teacher, TA and SENCO to provide consistency, build trust and help the children access learning in a calm and supportive way.
 
The school promotes an inclusive, nurturing approach where children are supported to thrive both academically and emotionally. Staff work collaboratively to ensure all pupils feel safe, supported and ready to learn.
 
Responsibilities as a SEND Teaching Assistant / HLTA:
  • · Supporting a small group of children with SEND (ADHD and ASD pathways)
  • · Working closely with the class teacher, TA and SENCO to maintain a safe and supportive environment
  • · Supporting children to remain in class and access learning
  • · Delivering small group interventions when required
  • · Helping to create a positive, engaging and nurturing learning environment
  • · Following the school’s policies and procedures
 
  • Required Skills and Experience:
  • · Relevant Level 2, Level 3 qualification or HLTA status
  • · Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly ADHD and ASD
  • · Experience working in a Primary School setting, ideally KS1
  • · Ability to provide a calm, patient and nurturing approach
  • · Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • · Commitment to promoting an inclusive classroom environment

  • · £88.92 to £95.00 per day which equates to £17,339.40 to £18,525.00 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year
