We’re seeking SEN Teaching Assistants to work in a highly specialised SEN setting that offers personalised, ‘home-from-home’ learning spaces. With seven individual classrooms and, each learner is taught as their own ‘class's by a dedicated teacher, supported where needed by a Teaching Support Assistant. Students aged 11–19 are grouped by compatibility, not ability, ensuring a calm and supportive environment.
 
Peer interactions are encouraged during group lessons and social times, with staff always on hand to ensure safe, positive engagement. Alongside academic learning, there is a strong focus on developing emotional literacy, communication skills, and confidence, supported by a specialist intervention team including a Speech and Language Therapist, Music Therapist, Life Skills Coach, Mindfulness Teacher, and Careers Adviser.

The SEN Teaching Assistant Role:
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SLD, ASD, ADHD, SEMH, non-verbal needs and BESD.
  • Work with teachers, social workers and care workers to support individual EHCP targets.
  • Help maintain a safe, calm and nurturing environment that supports positive behaviour and engagement.
  • Assist with personal care or communication needs where required.
  • Promote independence, confidence and emotional resilience in all learners.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will receive a £150 welcome bonus*, paid automatically once you’ve completed 30 consecutive working days in your role. *Bonus applies to this full-time role only, and terms and conditions apply.

  • £88.92 - £120 per day depending on experience, which equates to £17,940 - £23,400 based on working 5 days a week for a full school year
