We are seeking dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join the team at a SEN school which supports Key Stage 3 students (Years 7–9). The site features six classrooms used for teaching small groups as well as withdrawal and intervention sessions. There is also a small hall that provides space for larger group activities and serves as a dining area during break and lunch times.
 
Students at this site follow a differentiated, broad, and balanced Key Stage 3 curriculum, designed to support their individual learning needs and prepare them for making informed exam choices in Key Stage 4. The school caters for pupils with a range of needs, including BESD, SEMH, SLD, ASD, and ADHD, providing a structured, nurturing environment where every learner can thrive.

Required Skills and Experience for this SEND TA Role:
  • Experience supporting pupils with BESD, SEMH, SLD, ASD, and ADHD, with an understanding of how to meet diverse and complex learning needs.
  • Knowledge of Key Stage 3 learning and the ability to support students accessing a differentiated curriculum.
  • Experience working in a special school, PRU, or inclusive mainstream setting.
  • Familiarity with positive behaviour strategies and supporting pupils with emotional and behavioural challenges.
  • Confidence in delivering and adapting differentiated learning activities to meet individual targets and outcomes.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Up-to-date understanding of safeguarding practices and commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment.
 
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will receive a £150 welcome bonus*, paid automatically once you’ve completed 30 consecutive working days in your role. *Bonus applies to this full-time role only, and terms and conditions apply.

We are currently supporting a specialist Key Stage 3 SEN school near Erdington, Birmingham, dedicated to meeting the needs of students with a range of complex learning needs, including BESD, SEMH, SLD, ASD, and ADHD. The school offers a nurturing environment with six classrooms for teaching and intervention, as well as a small hall for group activities and dining.
