Flourish Education is currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a Primary School in Cheltenham. The school’s most recent report states that ‘Pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) access the same curriculum as others. In English and Mathematics, learning is adapted to ensure that these pupils learn well.’
The SEN Teaching Assistant role is to support a Key Stage 2 child with ASD, communication and language needs.
The successful applicants would need to have a secure understanding of the Primary curriculum, strong behaviour management skills, and previous experience of supporting those with SEN. The school are looking for candidates who are willing to commit to a long-term position to ensure consistency for the children.
We are looking for a passionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistant to join the school’s happy and caring team. The role is due to start in September and will continue provisionally until the end of the academic year.
Required Skills and Experience for this SEN Teaching Assistant role:
- Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
- Experience of supporting those with SEN
- Committed to long term role
- Highly motivated to improve outcomes for children
- Have excellent communication skills
- Have a secure understanding of phonics and early reading or willing to train
