Job Description

Are you a resilient, caring and passionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference? We are looking for an SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Key Stage 2 with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour and additional learning needs.

Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff, you will provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils re-engage with education, build positive relationships and achieve their individual learning and behaviour targets.

The school provides a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment, with a strong focus on positive relationships, consistency and high expectations.

This role is due to start in September and continue until December, on a full-time basis, working 08:30 – 15:30.

The SEN Teaching Assistant Role:
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEND, including MLD, ADD, BESD and ADHD
  • Support behaviour, emotional regulation and individual learning outcomes
  • Work alongside teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to support EHCP targets
  • Create a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Promote pupils' independence, confidence and resilience

We welcome applications from candidates with:
  • Experience as an SEN TA, SEND TA, LSA, Teaching Assistant, 1:1 TA or Behaviour Mentor
  • Experience in a special school, PRU, alternative provision or mainstream setting
  • A strong understanding of SEND and challenging behaviour
  • An empathetic, adaptable and resilient approach
  • Team Teach or similar training is desirable but not essential
