Job Description

Flourish Education are recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to support in a ‘Good’ rated Primary school in Sedgley. This school is a small, faith school, who values respect, forgiveness, truth, kindness and equality within all aspects of the school community.

Our client is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant to support within a Year 5 class on a 1-1 basis. The role is to support a Year 5 child, who is very active on, this child has challenging behaviour, including using bad language and he is prone to running. The child values stability and the ideal candidate would need to commit to a full-time role, starting in October and continuing until December, dependent on funding this role has potential to be ongoing.

The responsibilities of this SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Provide 1:1 support a student with challenging behaviour in a Primary School setting.
  • Assist in delivering the National Curriculum.
  • Work closely with teachers to ensure tailored support for this 1-1.
  • Help create a positive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and report to teachers and SENCo.
  • Use your experience as a TA to support classroom management and behaviour.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant or TA in a UK school.
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum, particularly at KS2 level.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to engage and support students with a range of needs in a Primary School setting.
