Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming Primary School in Gloucester, recently graded Good by Ofsted. This long-term role is ideal for a passionate TA who thrives on supporting pupils with additional needs across EYFS, Key Stage 1 (KS1), and Key Stage 2 (KS2). Job Role:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  • Assist the Class Teacher in delivering engaging lessons across the National Curriculum.
  • Support learning and development in Reception, KS1 and KS2 classrooms.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and SENCO to implement Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs).
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing for all pupils.
  • Ensure a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment.

Required Skills and Experience:
  • Experience working as a SEN Teaching Assistant, TA, or Learning Support Assistant in a UK Primary School.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent).
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum, EYFS, KS1, and KS2.
  • Experience working full time, 5 days per week, in a long-term role until the end of the academic year.
  • Ability to work effectively with the Class Teacher and wider school staff.
  • Previous UK school experience is essential.

This SEN Teaching Assistant position is based in Gloucester, easily commutable from Cheltenham, Stroud, Brockworth, Tewkesbury, Quedgeley, and Churchdown. The Primary School is situated in a friendly community and offers onsite parking, with excellent transport links from surrounding areas.
