This is an exciting opportunity to join a friendly and supportive staff team committed to providing an inclusive and nurturing learning environment where every child can thrive. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to provide consistent 1:1 support throughout the school day. • Supporting targeted interventions outside of the classroom, particularly during parts of the morning

  • Building a positive, trusting, and supportive relationship with the pupil

  • Encouraging the pupil's confidence, independence, communication, and social development

  • Using positive behaviour management strategies and supporting emotional regulation where required

  • Adapting learning activities and resources to meet the pupil's individual needs

  • Providing reassurance and encouragement to help the pupil remain engaged and focused on learning

  • Supporting the pupil during transitions, break times, lunchtimes, and other aspects of the school day where required

  • Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school team

  • Maintaining accurate records where required and contributing to the monitoring of the pupil's progress

  • Following school policies, safeguarding procedures, and SEND guidance at all times

To be successful in this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is highly desirable

  • Experience providing 1:1 support to children within a Primary School setting would be advantageous

  • A relevant Teaching Assistant or SEND qualification is desirable

  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach

  • The ability to build positive relationships with children and understand their individual needs

  • Good behaviour management skills and the ability to remain consistent and positive

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • The ability to support learning both within the classroom and through targeted interventions

  • A proactive, adaptable, and child-centred approach

  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs to achieve their full potential

  • A reliable, professional, and compassionate attitude
