Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for your next role in education?

Flourish Education is working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Halesowen, who are seeking to appoint a qualified Teaching Assistant from after the February half-term until the end of the academic year.

This is a full-time, class-based SEN Teaching Assistant role, providing 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil who is working at a lower Key Stage 1 level. The child has Autism and an EHCP in place and will require support with learning during the mornings, as well as assistance with managing behavioural needs throughout the school day.

The school is looking for an experienced Teaching Assistant with strong phonics knowledge, who can confidently support the child on a one-to-one basis and contribute positively to their learning and development.

Required Skills and Experience for this SEN Teaching Assistant role
  • Hold a relevant level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
  • Previous experience working with SEN pupils, within a Primary school or SEN setting, particularly with pupils who have behavioural needs.
  • Be familiar with implementing strategies to manage and reduce challenging behaviours
  • Be able to build strong, and trusting relationships with the children in the class.
  • Good curriculum knowledge of Key Stage 1.
  • A DBS on the update service or issued in the last 12 months
  • A minimum of 2 excellent references
