Flourish Education are working in partnership with a welcoming Primary School in Kidderminster, who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from the Easter holidays until the end of the academic year in July.
This SEN Teaching Assistant role is a full-time position working within the school’s SEN provision base, supporting a child in Reception on a 1:1 basis with Autism. The role will involve providing consistent, structured support throughout the school day to help the child access learning, develop communication skills and engage positively with activities within the provision.

Previous experience supporting children with Autism is highly desirable, alongside a good understanding of SEN strategies and techniques.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a Reception pupil with Autism within the SEN provision base.
- Supporting the child to access structured learning activities throughout the school day.
- Using SEN strategies and a patient, nurturing approach to support communication and engagement.
- Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow and implement individual support plans.
- Supporting the pupil’s social, emotional and behavioural development.
- Helping to maintain a calm, structured and supportive learning environment.
- Assisting with daily routines within the provision and supporting learning where appropriate.
To be successful in this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will need:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or supporting children within a primary school setting.
- Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs.
- Experience supporting children with Autism is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of effective SEN strategies and techniques.
- A patient, caring and adaptable approach.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
- A reliable and committed attitude.
