Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant, looking for a new role supporting SEN children?

Flourish Education are working alongside a wonderful Primary School based in Kingswinford, who are hoping to appoint a qualified SEN Teaching Assistant starting in February, until the end of the academic year.

This SEN Teaching Assistant role is a full-time SEN hub based role, supporting a small group of children with complex needs. This is working closely with the class teacher, and other support staff to provide a safe, engaging, and positive learning environment.

Mornings in the hub will be with 5 children in classes Y3-5, and afternoons with 4 children within Early Years and KS1, working 8:30 - 3:30 on a full-time basis. Children in the hub have a range of needs from ASD, ADHD, non-verbal and learning difficulties. Previous experience working with these needs are desirable.


Required Skills and Experience for this SEN Teaching Assistant role

  • Hold a relevant level 2 or Level 3 qualification.

  • Previous experience working with SEN pupils, within a Primary school or SEN setting, particularly with pupils who have complex Special Educational needs.

  • Be familiar with implementing strategies to manage and reduce challenging behaviours

  • Be able to build strong, and trusting relationships with the children in the class.

  • Good curriculum knowledge of the Early Years, and KS1 curriculum.

  • A DBS on the update service or issued in the last 12 months

  • A minimum of 2 excellent references
