A warm and inclusive Pre-school in Oldbury is seeking a part-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated early years team on a part-time basis, working Monday - Friday, mornings only after Easter. This role will involve supporting a pupil in Year 2 on a 1:1 basis with mobility needs and visual impairment. Tube feeding will also be required, previous experience for this is not needed, as school will provide in-house training. 

Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider school staff, you will help create a nurturing and structured environment where every child feels supported and valued.

The role requires someone who can show initiative and flexibility when responding to the needs of the child, while also being a strong team player with excellent communication skills.

Required skills and experience for this teaching assistant role:

  • Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years qualification
  • Previous experience working with SEN and physical disabilities (either mainstream or in a SEN school)
  • Experience working with children in Early Years
  • Ability to work alongside classroom teacher and other support staff to provide efficient care and learning opportunities
  • A DBS on the update service or issued within the last 12 months
  • A minimum of 2 excellent references
