Flourish's currently recruiting for SEN Teaching Assistants to join local SEN schools across Sandwell ,This role offers a fantastic opportunity to support pupils with a wide range of complex and physical needs, including Down Syndrome, Dyslexia, Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), Epilepsy, and Global Developmental Delay.

The SEN Teaching Assistant Role:
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEND including EBD, Down syndrome, Dyslexia and global developmental delay 
  • Implement strategies to support behaviour, emotional regulation and individual learning outcomes
  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to meet EHCP goals
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
  • Support pupils with personal care or physical needs, where required
  • Promote independence, confidence and resilience in learners
We welcome applications from candidates with experience in any of the following roles:
  • SEN Teaching Assistant, SEND TA, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), Teaching Assistant, 1:1 TA, Behaviour Mentor
  • Experience working in a special school, PRU, alternative provision or inclusive mainstream school
  • Strong understanding of SEND, particularly in supporting pupils with EBD, Down syndrome, Dyslexia and global developmental delay
  • Empathetic, adaptable and resilient approach
  • Excellent behaviour management strategies
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
