Job Description

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant passionate about supporting children with additional needs?

Flourish Education are working in partnership with a friendly Primary School in West Bromwich, who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.

This is a full-time, long-term position starting as soon as possible, and continuing through to the end of the academic year in July, offering a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to pupils’ learning and development.
 

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide targeted support to pupils with SEND across KS1 and KS2

  • Support children’s academic progress, emotional wellbeing, and social development

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement individual support plans

  • Adapt learning activities to meet the needs of pupils with a range of additional needs

  • Help maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment

  • Support pupils both within the classroom and in small group interventions


Required Skills and Experience for this SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification

  • Previous experience supporting children with SEND within a primary school setting

  • Confidence in managing behaviour and supporting pupils with additional needs

  • The ability to build positive and trusting relationships with children

  • A good understanding of the KS1 and KS2 curriculum

  • A DBS on the update service, or issued within the last 12 months

  • A minimum of two excellent references


Working for Flourish Education as a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will receive:

  • Competitive Salary – £18,049 - £19,500 per annum based on working 5 days a week, and on previous experience.

This SEN Teaching Assistant role is based in Rowley Regis, which is easily accessible from Oldbury, Blackheath, Smethwick, and surrounding areas.
