This SEN Teaching Assistant role will be a 1:1 in Year 1 with a child with a EHCP (Education Healthcare plan). The school is a small village primary school which is on the outskirts of Stourbridge. This will start in September for the full academic year.
This SEN Teaching Assistant role will include:
- Provide 1:1 and group support to students with special educational needs.
- Assist in implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with teachers to develop effective strategies for classroom management.
- Support students in developing social skills and emotional resilience.
- Prepare and maintain classroom materials and resources.
- Monitor and report on student progress to SENCo and teaching staff.
Required Skills and Experience for this Teaching Assistant role:
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in a relevant field.
- Previous UK school experience, ideally within a primary school setting.
- Familiarity with the National Curriculum, including Key Stage 1 (KS1), Key Stage 2 (KS2), Reception, and EYFS.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- A commitment to promoting a positive work-life balance.
