Are you a caring and dedicated Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs?

Flourish Education is working closely with a warm and welcoming primary school in Stourbridge, to recruit a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a child in their Reception class.

This full-time role is due to start after Easter, working 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday, and will continue until July 2026.

Working as an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting a child with Autism, and challenging behaviour, helping them to access learning, develop communication skills, and take part in daily classroom activities.

Key responsibilities for this SEN Teaching Assistant role, include:
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a Reception-aged child with Autism and challenging behaviour.
  • Support the child’s learning, communication, physical development, and independence throughout the school day.
  • Adapt activities and resources to ensure the child can fully access the Early Years curriculum.
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to follow individual support plans.
  • Help create a safe, positive, and encouraging learning environment.
  • Monitor progress and share observations with staff to support ongoing development.


Skills and Experience Required for this SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • Experience supporting children with additional or complex needs, ideally in Early Years.
  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant (Level 2 or Level 3 preferred).
  • A patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.

Working as an SEN Teaching assistant for Flourish Education also offers you excellent benefits, including:

This 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant position is based in Stourbridge, commutable by public transport from local areas such as Cradley Heath, Halesowen and Kingswinford. Onsite parking is also available.
