SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Description

We are recruiting multiple SEN Teaching Assistants to work in a mainstream Primary School in Stroud. You will be working on a 1:1 basis with primary aged children who have severe autism and PMLD (profound multiple learning difficulties).

The Primary school we are working with have an Ofsted rating of “Good” and are based in the Stroud area with great public transport links.

The SEN Teaching Assistant would need to have previous experience working with SEN children and be committed to a long-term position. The position is to begin as soon as possible and will be ongoing until the end of the academic year.

Required Skills and Experience for this SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
  • Experience of supporting those with SEN
  • Committed to long term role
  • Highly motivated to improve outcomes for children
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have a secure understanding of phonics and early reading or willing to train

The school is in Stroud and is easily accessible from the M5 and commutable from, Gloucester, Kings Stanley, Stonehouse, Dursley, Nailsworth, Minchinhampton and Thrupp. The primary school has public transport links and offers onsite parking.
