SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Flourish Education are recruiting for a supply SEN teaching assistant to work in a mainstream 2-form entry primary school in Telford rated ‘Good’ in their most recent Ofsted report. The school are looking to recruit a Supply Teaching assistant until the end of the academic year with the potential to go permanent. This would be on a 1:1 basis working with a child based in year 4 with challenging behaviour

This supply SEN Teaching assistant would start after Easter half term and would be working within a good staff team who are supportive and always work as a team to aim to be the best they can possibly be. Flourish education have a long-standing relationship with the school and has received regular positive feedback when a candidate has been in whether its long term or day-to-day cover.

The Supply SEN teaching assistant would need to have previous experience working with children with autism and be committed to a full-time long-term position until the end of the academic year.

To apply for this Supply SEN Teaching assistant role you will need the following:

  • Qualified Teaching Assistant level 2 or 3 or qualification.
  • Experience working with Sen 
  • Commitment to a long-term post
  • DBS on the update service or issued in the last 12 months.
  • Minimum of 2 good references is required.
  • Experience working with SEN needs

Responsibilities for the Supply SEN Teaching assistant role:

  • To support the class teacher within everyday activities
  • To support the children within the class
  • To work closely with the class teacher
  • Of the safety of the children
  • To report back to class teacher on progress of the child
