SEN Teaching Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and supportive team at a GOOD Ofsted-rated Primary School in Worcester. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced TA to work in a rewarding role, where your work truly makes a difference to the lives of children.

This role is for a 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant in Year 6. You will be supporting a child with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), and autism. There are no behaviour problems. This will be a long-term role starting ASAP until the end of the academic year. 

This SEN Teaching Assistant role will include:

  • Support pupils with SEN across Key Stage 2 (KS2)
  • Assist the classroom teacher with planning and delivering the National Curriculum.
  • Provide one-to-one support with children who require special educational needs.
  • Help foster a positive and inclusive learning environment in the Primary School.
  • Liaise with the SENCO and parents to track pupil progress and development.
  • Contribute to classroom activities and help with resource management.

Required Skills and Experience for this Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Experience working in a UK Primary School with pupils across Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, or EYFS.
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum and SEN teaching strategies.
  • Previous experience as a TA or SEN Teaching Assistant is essential.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 teaching assistant qualification is required.
  • A passion for helping children achieve their potential and maintain a healthy work life balance.
