Are you an experienced and resilient SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference?

Flourish Education are working in partnership with a welcoming primary school in Worcester, who are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team as soon as possible until the end of the academic year in July.

This full-time position involves providing 1:1 support for a child in Year 3 with behavioural needs. The school is looking for someone who is patient, consistent and confident in managing behaviour, with the ability to build a strong and positive relationship with the pupil.

You will be working closely with the class teacher and wider support staff to ensure the child remains engaged, supported and able to access learning in a structured and nurturing environment. The leadership team is supportive and committed to providing the right strategies and resources to help both staff and pupils succeed.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support for a Year 3 pupil with behavioural needs.
  • Supporting the pupil’s engagement with learning and promoting positive behaviours.
  • Implementing behaviour management strategies consistently and effectively.
  • Working closely with the class teacher to adapt activities to meet the pupil’s needs.
  • Helping to create a safe, structured and supportive learning environment.
  • Building a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil.
  • Supporting the pupil during transitions and throughout the school day.
  • Communicating effectively with staff and contributing to pupil progress updates.


Required Skills and Experience for this SEN Teaching Assistant role:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEN or behavioural needs.
  • Confidence in managing challenging behaviour in a calm and consistent manner.
  • A patient, resilient and nurturing approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • A DBS on the Update Service or issued within the last 12 months.
  • A minimum of two excellent professional references.
