Are you an experienced and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a full-time role?

A welcoming and inclusive Primary school in Worcester are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work full-time from May until July, with the potential to extend in September. This rewarding role involves supporting a Year 2 and Year 3 class, with a combination of 1:1 SEN support in the mornings and general classroom support in the afternoons.

In the mornings, you will work 1:1 with a child with behavioural needs. In the afternoons, you will support the wider Year 3 and Year 2 Class Teachers with general classroom support. The school is looking for a caring SEN Teaching Assistant who is confident, reliable, and committed to inclusive practice.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and wider support team to ensure the child’s needs are met and that learning is accessible for all pupils.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing 1:1 support for a child with behavioural needs

  • Supporting communication, engagement, and access to learning using appropriate strategies.

  • Assisting with transitions and daily routines.

  • Providing general classroom support within the Year 2 and 3 classes in the afternoons.

  • Promoting a safe, calm, and inclusive learning environment.

  • Working collaboratively with teaching staff and the SENCo.


To be successful in this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you will need:

  • Previous experience working as an SEN Teaching Assistant or supporting children with behavioural nees

  • A calm, patient, and nurturing approach.

  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.

  • A proactive and reliable attitude.
