Job Description

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a strong background in supporting children with behavioural needs?

Flourish Education are working closely with a welcoming Primary School in Worcester, who are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Reception-aged child with behavioural challenges.

This is a full-time, long-term position, starting in June and continuing until October half-term, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact during a key stage in a child’s early development.

As a Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Reception child with behavioural needs

  • Implement effective behaviour management strategies to support the child’s engagement and progress

  • Support the child’s learning, emotional regulation, and social development

  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to follow and adapt individual behaviour plans

  • Help maintain a calm, safe, and structured learning environment

  • Encourage positive behaviour and reinforce routines consistently


Required Skills and Experience for this Teaching Assistant role:

  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)

  • Previous experience supporting children with behavioural needs on a 1:1 basis

  • Strong knowledge of behaviour management techniques and strategies

  • Confidence in de-escalation and promoting positive behaviour

  • The ability to build a strong, trusting relationship with young children

  • Good understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum

  • A DBS on the update service, or issued within the last 12 months

  • A minimum of two excellent references
