We’re looking for SEN Teaching Assistants, with experience in early years SEN settings, to work within a school based in Worcestershire. These settings support pupils with SEMH, Non-Verbal needs, Physical Disabilities (PD), Learning Difficulties (LD), and ADHD. Each school provides tailored support to help pupils access learning, develop key skills, and thrive in a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment.

The SEN Teaching Assistant Role:      

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), including those with SEMH, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Non-Verbal Communication Needs, and Physical Disabilities (PD).
  • Work closely with class teachers, SENCOs and external professionals to meet EHCP goals
  • Help create a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
  • Support pupils with personal care or physical needs, where required
  • Promote independence, confidence and resilience in learners
  • Experience in providing personal care to pupils, supporting their daily needs with dignity and respect.

We welcome applications from candidates with experience in any of the following roles:

  • SEN Teaching Assistant, SEND TA, Learning Support Assistant (LSA), Teaching Assistant, 1:1 TA, Behaviour Mentor
  • Experience working in a special school, PRU, alternative provision or inclusive mainstream school
  • Strong understanding of SEND, particularly supporting pupils with SEMH, Physical Disabilities (PD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, and Non-Verbal Communication Needs. Skilled in promoting emotional regulation and individual learning outcomes with an empathetic, adaptable, and resilient approach.
  • Excellent behaviour management strategies
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Relevant training such as Team Teach, Makaton or PECS is desirable but not essential
