Job Description

Flourish Education are seeking an experienced and qualified SENCO to join our primary school in Oldbury from January 2026 to Easter 2026.

This non-class-based role can be offered full time or part time (3–4 days per week). The successful candidate will lead the school’s SEND provision as Inclusion Lead, overseeing a register of 75 pupils, including 12 with EHCPs. They will be responsible for writing and reviewing support plans, coordinating annual reviews, and ensuring all statutory processes are completed to a high standard.

Roles and responsibilities of an SEND Teacher:
  • Oversee the strategic development of SEND provision across the school as Inclusion Lead.
  • Ensure all statutory requirements for SEND are met and documentation is kept to a high standard.
  • Write and review individual support plans, provision maps, and targeted interventions.
  • Lead and coordinate annual reviews and other statutory meetings.
  • Coordinate referrals, assessments, and multi-agency involvement where required.

Suitable SEND Teacher Candidates will have the following:
  • SENCO qualification (NASENCo).
  • Experience teaching children with SEMH needs or in specialist settings (PRU, SEND base, or special school)
  • Strong understanding of SEND legislation, processes, and statutory responsibilities.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, families, and external partners
