A welcoming Primary School in Kingswinford is seeking a committed SEND Teacher to join their team from September, on a long-term basis to cover a maternity leave.

This is a full-time teaching position within the school's dedicated SEND provision base, offering full classroom responsibility including planning, assessment, and the delivery of a tailored curriculum to meet the individual needs of pupils.

In this role, you will teach a small class of 8 pupils aged 5–11 with a range of SEND, including Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviours. • Creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment that supports pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.

  • Managing challenging behaviour using positive behaviour management strategies.

  • Working collaboratively with Learning Support Assistants to ensure effective support is provided throughout the school day.

  • Liaising with the SENCO, senior leadership team, parents, and external agencies where appropriate.

  • Adapting teaching approaches to meet a wide range of learning needs and abilities.

  • Contributing to review meetings, EHCP targets, and wider school SEND provision.

  • Attending staff meetings and contributing to the wider life of the school.

To be successful in this SEND Teacher role, you will need:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

  • Significant previous experience teaching pupils with SEND, particularly those with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.

  • A strong understanding of strategies to support pupils with additional learning and behavioural needs.

  • Experience planning and delivering personalised learning programmes.

  • Excellent behaviour management and classroom organisation skills.

  • A patient, resilient, and flexible approach to teaching.

  • A commitment to supporting the educational, emotional, and social development of children with additional needs.

Working for Flourish Education as a SEND Teacher, you will receive:

  • Pension Contributions.

  • Holiday Pay - for PAYE candidates 12.07% of your day rate is accrued into your holiday pot.

  • KCSIE-compliant safeguarding and prevent duty training inclusive of modules relating to legislation, FGM and abuse.
