Job Description

SEND Teacher opportunity in a GOOD Primary School based in Walsall, starting after half term and continuing until July. This inclusive and well-structured Primary School has a dedicated SEN HUB resource base that supports pupils with a wide range of additional and complex needs. The school is recognised for its clear behaviour policies, strong leadership and experienced SEN support team, creating a consistent and supportive environment for both staff and pupils. This SEND Teacher role involves working with mixed SEN needs, including pupils who display challenging behaviour, within a specialist provision attached to a mainstream setting.
Job Role
  • Full class responsibilities including planning, marking and assessment as a Class Teacher
  • Teaching within the SEN HUB resource base, supporting pupils with mixed and complex SEN needs
  • Managing and supporting pupils with challenging behaviour using clear, consistent strategies
  • Delivering lessons in line with the National Curriculum where appropriate
  • Teaching pupils across Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2)
  • Working closely with the SENCO, support staff and wider Primary School team
Required Skills and Experience
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience working as a SEND Teacher, Primary Teacher or Class Teacher
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN and challenging behaviour
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • Excellent behaviour management skills
  • Experience working within a mainstream Primary School or SEN provision
  • A calm, resilient and consistent approach to behaviour management
