SEND Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Flourish Education are currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to support in a local partnership Primary School in Kings Norton.

Our client is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to work in the schools SEND Provision, Hub, with a group of children with speech and language difficulties across Early Years and Key Stage 1, the ideal candidate would have experience with pupils with speech and language difficulties, to support this role the school are happy to provide PECs training. The responsibilities of this role would include, supporting a small group of children with speech and language difficulties, appropriately managing behaviour of the children, working to an EHCP, working closely with the SENCO and class teacher.

This role would be to start ASAP and continue until the end of the academic year and has the potential to continue into the new academic year.

Required skills and experience for these SEND Teaching Assistant role:

  • Level 2 or above in a relevant Teaching Assistant (TA) / Learning Support Assistant (LSA)/ Learning Support Practitioner (LSP) qualification.
  • Previous experience working with children with SEND on a 1:1 or small group basis.
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in (EYFS or KS1) Primary Schools in the UK.
  • To be able to work effectively and efficiently alongside the Class Teacher.

This SEND Teaching Assistant role is based at a school in Kings Norton which is easily accessible from Cotteridge, Bournville, Hawkesley, Longbridge, Turves Green, West Heath, Northfield, Druids Heath, Stirchley, and Kings Heath. Onsite parking is available, but the school is easily accessed via Public Transport.
