Job Description

Flourish Education are seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support in a small Primary School in Kings Norton. The school believe in empowering pupils, promoting achievements and being a fully inclusive learning environment.

Our client is looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to support on a full-time, long-term basis, starting ASAP and continuing for the full academic year. In this role, you will be supporting across Year 2 and Year 3, working with children who have Autism. The responsibilities of this role would include working 1-1 and in small groups to provide interventions and support children in completing tasks.

This SEND Teaching Assistant role would be a long-term, full-time role, starting ASAP and is continuing until the end of the academic year.

The responsibilities of this SEND Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group interventions for children with SEND, particularly those with Autism.
  • Support teachers in delivering the National Curriculum across Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2).
  • Assist in planning and delivering tailored learning activities for pupils with special educational needs.
  • Foster an inclusive environment within the Primary School, helping all children achieve their potential.
  • Working to EHCP’s and IEP’s.
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress to the SENCO and Class Teacher.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • To hold a Level 2 or Level 3 in a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Previous experience working within a UK Primary school is essential.
  • Strong understanding of SEND Support, including Autism and SEN interventions.
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum for KS1 and KS2.
  • Previous experience in 1:1 support or group interventions is essential.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
