Job Description

Flourish Education are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to support in a ‘Good’ rated Primary School in Bartley Green. This is a 2-form entry, faith school who value creating a safe and loving environment for all staff and pupils.

Our client is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support across EYFS, Nursery and Reception. This role is to support 2 children predominantly, the children have a variety of needs including complex needs, SEMH needs, and communication and interaction difficulties.

This role is a full-time, long-term position starting in October and continuing for the full academic year. The school will consider people who are only able to work part-time.

The responsibilities of this SEND Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for SEND pupils across the Nursery, Reception, and EYFS.
  • Assist in implementing the National Curriculum in a way that meets the needs of SEND students.
  • Work closely with classroom teachers to monitor and adapt learning plans.
  • Create a nurturing environment to support the emotional and social needs of pupils.
  • Ensure safeguarding practices are followed and maintained.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience working as a TA in a UK Primary School setting, particularly within EYFS.
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with SEND pupils.
  • Understanding of safeguarding and child protection protocols.
