SEND Teaching Assistant

Flourish Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant who has experience supporting pupils with Autism and can provide consistent 1:1 support within a specialist provision. This school is located in Longbridge, this role is due to start ASAP until the end of the academic year. 

You will work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to deliver tailored support, adapt activities and encourage engagement. Building trust and providing consistency will be key to helping the child access learning and develop social and communication skills.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will be responsible for:
• Providing 1:1 support for a pupil within an Autism Resource Base
• Supporting communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
• Adapting learning activities to meet individual needs
• Implementing personalised support strategies and interventions
• Working collaboratively with teaching staff and the SEND team
• Ensuring safeguarding and welfare policies are strictly followed

Required Skills and Experience needed as a SEND Teaching Assistant:
• Experience supporting children with Autism and additional needs
• Experience working within a Primary School or specialist provision
• A patient, nurturing and consistent approach
• Strong understanding of SEND support strategies
• Recent experience working within a UK school setting
