Flourish Education are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in the Winson Green area. This is a full-time, long-term role starting in September 2026 and continuing until July 2027.
The role will involve working within the school's SEND Hub, supporting Key Stage 1 pupils with a range of complex additional needs.
The school is looking for a compassionate, adaptable and proactive Teaching Assistant who has experience supporting children with Autism, SEMH and learning difficulties. You will work as part of an experienced SEND team alongside a SEND Teacher and two SEND Teaching Assistants, supporting pupils throughout the school day.
Responsibilities as a SEND Teaching Assistant:
· Supporting Key Stage 1 pupils with complex SEND needs, including Autism, SEMH and learning difficulties
· Providing academic, emotional and pastoral support throughout the school day
· Using communication strategies such as Makaton, communication boards and Intensive Interaction
· Supporting pupils with personal care where required
· Working closely with the SEND Teacher and wider SEND team
· Adapting support to meet individual EHCP targets and learning needs
· Following the school's policies and procedures
Required Skills and Experience:
· Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
· Experience supporting children with complex SEND needs
· Knowledge of Autism, SEMH and learning difficulties
· Experience using communication strategies such as Makaton, communication boards or Intensive Interaction is desirable
· Comfortable providing personal care
· Patient, resilient and flexible approach to supporting children with additional needs
