Flourish Education are recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in the Longbridge area. This is a full-time, long-term role starting as soon as possible.
The role will involve working within the school's Resource Base, supporting children with a range of complex additional needs. You will work closely with the class teacher and wider SEN team to support pupils throughout the school day.
The school is looking for a patient, adaptable and proactive Teaching Assistant with experience supporting children with additional needs. Experience supporting pupils with Autism, SEMH and learning difficulties would be highly beneficial.
Responsibilities as a SEN Teaching Assistant:
· Supporting pupils with a range of complex SEN needs within the Resource Base
· Providing academic, emotional and pastoral support throughout the school day
· Supporting pupils to access learning and achieve their individual targets
· Using communication strategies such as Makaton and communication boards.
· Supporting pupils with personal care where required
· Working closely with the class teacher and wider SEN team
· Helping to create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
· Following EHCP targets and the school's policies and procedures
Required Skills and Experience:
· Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable
· Experience supporting children with SEN and complex additional needs
· Knowledge of Autism, SEMH and learning difficulties is desirable
· Experience using communication strategies such as Makaton, communication boards or Intensive Interaction is beneficial
· Comfortable supporting with personal care where required
· Patient, resilient and adaptable approach
