SEND Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Flourish Education are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work in the Cannock area at a 2-form entry, “GOOD” Ofsted-rated Primary School.

This role involves providing 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with Autism and challenging behaviour. The school is seeking a committed and experienced Teaching Assistant who is confident supporting children with additional needs and managing challenging behaviour positively and effectively.

The position is full-time, starting April 2026 until July 2026, working 8:30am – 3:30pm.
 

Required Skills and Experience

To be considered for this Teaching Assistant role, you must:

  • Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).

  • Have good knowledge and experience of working with SEND, particularly Autism.

  • Have experience working in Nurseries or Primary Schools as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant (LSA).

  • Hold a DBS on the update service or have one issued within the last 12 months.

  • Provide a minimum of two excellent references.

  • Have recent UK school experience.

  • Competitive salary – £88.92 – £100 per day (dependent on experience), equating to £17,940 – £19,500 per annum based on working five days per week for a full school year.

  • KCSIE-compliant safeguarding and Prevent Duty training, including modules relating to legislation, FGM and abuse.

Location

The school is based in Cannock and is easily accessible from Great Wyrley, Cheslyn Hay and Great Saredon. Most local schools offer onsite parking.
