SEND Teaching Assistant

Job Description

We are currently recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming, two-form entry 'Good' Ofsted-rated Primary School in Cannock.

This role will involve providing 1:1 support for a Year 4 pupil with ADHD and challenging behaviour. The school is looking for a confident and experienced Teaching Assistant who can build positive relationships, implement effective behaviour management strategies, and provide consistent, tailored support to help the pupil engage successfully in their learning.

This is a part-time position, starting in September 2026 and continuing until December 2026, working Mondays and Tuesdays from 8:30am to 3:30pm.

Required Skills and Experience for this SEND Teaching Assistant role:

  • Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
  • Have experience supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant (LSA) within a Nursery or Primary School
  • Recent UK school-based experience
  • A DBS registered on the Update Service, or issued within the last 12 months
  • A minimum of two excellent professional references
