Job Description

Are you a compassionate and skilled SEND Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference in students' lives? As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you’ll be working alongside a dedicated Class Teacher to support children with a range of special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD, and SEMH. The responsibilities of an SEND Teaching Assistant include:

  • Support students with SEND in the classroom, including those with Autism, ADHD, and SEMH
  • Work alongside a Class Teacher to deliver the National Curriculum in Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2)
  • Assist with the implementation of behaviour management strategies for students with challenging behaviour
  • Provide one-on-one support to students with SEND, including those with ASD
  • Help in the development and delivery of tailored learning plans and strategies

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working in a Primary School as a TA or SEND Teaching Assistant
  • Experience supporting children with SEND, including Autism, ADHD, ASD, and SEMH
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in supporting teaching and learning (or equivalent)
  • A strong understanding of the National Curriculum and its application in Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2)
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and KCSIE compliance
  • A positive, patient, and proactive approach to supporting students with challenging behaviour
  • Previous experience in a UK school is essential
