SEND Teaching Assistant

Flourish Education are working with a welcoming primary school in Water Orton who are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support to a Year 2 pupil with Autism and challenging behaviour.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys building strong relationships with children and wants to make a genuine difference to their day-to-day learning and development.

You will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to provide consistent, nurturing support, help the pupil manage their behaviour and emotions, and ensure they are able to engage positively with their learning.

The role is full-time from September until March 2027, working 8:30am–3:30pm, with the potential for further opportunities through Flourish Education.

What you'll be doing:

• Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 2 pupil
• Building a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil
• Supporting learning, communication and emotional regulation
• Implementing appropriate behaviour strategies
• Helping the pupil develop confidence and independence
• Working closely with the class teacher and SEND team
• Creating a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment

• A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
• Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly Autism
• Experience managing challenging behaviour
• Previous experience working in a nursery or primary school
• A patient, calm and consistent approach
• Recent UK school experience
• A DBS on the Update Service or one issued within the last 12 months
• Two excellent references

• £92.59–£100 per day, depending on experience
