Job Description

Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with SEND? Are you looking for a rewarding full-time opportunity where you can make a real difference to a child's development and learning?

Flourish Education is recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Coventry from September. This is a full-time position supporting a Reception-aged child with complex needs on a 1:1 basis, both within the classroom and the school's resource base.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Reception child with complex needs.
  • Support the child both within the classroom and in the school's resource base.
  • Work alongside the class teacher to provide additional classroom support when required.
  • Assist with learning activities, engagement and behaviour support.
  • Encourage the child's independence, confidence and participation in school life.
  • Promote inclusion and develop positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Work closely with the SENCO and other professionals where appropriate.
  • Follow the school's safeguarding, behaviour and SEND policies.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

To be successful in this SEND Teaching Assistant role, you will need:
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
  • Experience working within a primary school or nursery setting.
  • Experience supporting children with SEND would be highly desirable.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
  • A patient, caring and adaptable approach.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and work effectively as part of a team.

Working as a Teaching Assistant for Flourish Education also offers you excellent benefits, including:
  • £92.56–£100 per day, equivalent to £18,049–£19,500 per annum based on full-time work.

This SEND Teaching Assistant position is based in Coventry and is easily commutable from Coventry, Nuneaton, Bedworth and surrounding areas of Warwickshire. The school is well connected by public transport and offers on-site parking.
