Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant looking for a role where you can make a real difference to a child’s day-to-day learning and development?

Flourish Education is working with a welcoming primary school in Atherstone that is looking for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026. This is a full-time opportunity, supporting a Reception-aged child with complex needs on a 1:1 basis.

You will work closely with the child both within the Reception classroom and the school's dedicated resource base, helping them to access learning, develop their independence and feel fully included in school life.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Reception child with complex needs
  • Support the child both within the classroom and resource base
  • Help the child access learning activities and classroom routines
  • Support communication, engagement and social development
  • Provide appropriate behaviour and emotional support when needed
  • Adapt activities and resources to meet the child's individual needs
  • Encourage independence, confidence and positive relationships
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider school team
  • Follow the school's safeguarding and behaviour policies
  • Provide general classroom support when required

We're looking for someone who:
  • Has a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Has experience working within a primary school or nursery setting
  • Has experience supporting children with SEND or additional needs
  • Is patient, calm and consistent in their approach
  • Is confident providing 1:1 support
  • Has a genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning
  • Can build positive and trusting relationships with pupils and staff
  • Is reliable and committed to the full-time role

You don't need to have experience supporting this exact level of need, but you will need to be someone who is nurturing, adaptable and genuinely passionate about supporting children with SEND.

This SEND Teaching Assistant position is based in Atherstone and is easily commutable from Nuneaton, Bedworth, Warwickshire and surrounding areas. The school is well connected by public transport and also offers onsite parking.
