The school is seeking to employ a SEND Teaching Assistant to join the staff team starting in September on a full-time, long-term basis. The responsibilities would be to work 1:1 or in small groups with pupils with SEND, the children have a range of needs including ASD, ADHD and this includes children with diagnosed and undiagnosed needs.

Job Role:

  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils with SEND, including ASD and ADHD, both diagnosed and undiagnosed needs.
  • Assist in the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
  • Support the class teacher in delivering the national curriculum, particularly within the EYFS and Reception classes.
  • To foster a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Monitor and record pupils progress, reporting any concerns to the relevant staff.
  • Collaborate with staff and parents to ensure the best outcomes for the students.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience working in a UK primary school is essential.
  • Qualifications: Level 2 or Level 3 in the relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of the National Curriculum.
  • Experience with SEND, particularly ASD and ADHD, both diagnosed and undiagnosed needs.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and independently.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
