Job Description

SEND Teaching Assistant required for a welcoming Primary School in Brockworth rated GOOD by OFSTED. This SEND Teaching Assistant role offers the opportunity to deliver structured, evidence-informed interventions across KS1 or KS2 within a supportive Primary School environment.

Working closely with the Class Teacher, you will support pupils with additional needs to achieve their full potential. This is a full-time position with competitive daily pay and the chance to make a lasting impact as a SEND Teaching Assistant.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will receive a £150 welcome bonus*, paid automatically once you’ve completed 30 consecutive working days in your role.

Job Role:
  • Deliver targeted interventions across Key Stage 1 (KS1) or Key Stage 2 (KS2) in line with the National Curriculum
  • Support pupils with ADHD, SEMH, cognition and learning, and physical or sensory needs
  • Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher to adapt planning and resources
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support within the classroom or breakout spaces
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to the Class Teacher and SENCO
  • Promote independence, confidence and positive behaviour as a TA within the Primary School

Required Skills and Experience:
 
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
  • Previous UK school experience is essential
  • Experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant, Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or TA
  • Strong knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • Experience supporting pupils in KS1 and/or KS2
  • Understanding of ADHD, SEMH, cognition and learning, and sensory needs
  • Ability to work closely with the Class Teacher and wider Primary School staff team

This position is in Brockworth, which is easily commutable from Gloucester, Cheltenham, Churchdown, Hucclecote, Abbeydale and Quedgeley. The Primary School offers onsite parking and has excellent transport links from surrounding areas.
