Job Description

SEN Teaching Assistant required for a welcoming Primary School in Quedgeley, rated GOOD by OFSTED. This SEN Teaching Assistant role is unique as you will provide 1:1 support to two pupils in Key Stage 2 (KS2) with neurodiverse needs, helping them access the National Curriculum and manage behaviour choices.

Working closely with the Class Teacher, this SEN Teaching Assistant position is full-time and starts immediately until the end of the academic year. If you are an experienced TA looking for a rewarding role, this SEN Teaching Assistant opportunity could be ideal.

JOB ROLE:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support as a SEN Teaching Assistant to two pupils in Year 4 and Year 6
  • Support learning in line with the National Curriculum within a Primary School setting
  • Work collaboratively with the Class Teacher to adapt learning activities
  • Assist with behaviour management strategies and emotional support
  • Help pupils engage with classwork and achieve their learning goals
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive Primary School environment

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Previous UK school experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant or TA is essential
  • Experience supporting pupils in Key Stage 2 (KS2)
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • Ability to work closely with a Class Teacher and wider school staff
  • Experience supporting children with neurodiverse needs
  • Relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Experience working in a Primary School setting
