SEND Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Flourish Education are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to work at a local partnership school in Harborne. The school has provision for children with SEND, including a SEND Hub, which is used to support children, across the primary age range, who have SEND on a small group of 1-1 basis outside of the classroom.

Our client is looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to support a child, in Key Stage 1 with ASD and ADHD on a 1-1 basis. Responsibilities will include supporting the KS1 child 1-1 within the classroom and the SEND Hub, you will be required to work to an EHCP, and report back to the SENCo on the progress made. This role could be full-time, with potential for part-time up to 3 days a week as part of a job share.

This role is due to start ASAP and is set to continue until the end of the academic year.

Required skills and experience for this Teaching Assistant role:

  • Level 2 or above in a relevant Teaching Assistant (TA) / Learning Support Assistant (LSA)/ Learning Support Practitioner (LSP) qualification.
  • Previous experience working with children with SEND on a 1:1 or small group basis.
  • Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant in Primary Schools in the UK.
  • To be able to work effectively and efficiently alongside the Class Teacher.

This TA role is based at a school in Harborne which is easily accessible from Quinton, Edgbaston, Selly Oak, Bartley Green, Smethwick and Bearwood. Onsite parking is available, but the school is easily accessed via Public Transport.
