Job Description

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for an exciting opportunity to support children with special educational needs in a Primary School setting? In a 2-form entry Primary school in Kingswinford.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support children with varying needs across KS1, KS2, and EYFS, focusing on creating a positive learning environment. You will work closely with teachers and SENCo to meet the needs of pupils with SEN, providing one-on-one and small group support to help them reach their full potential.

This is a full-time, long-term assignment starting ASAP and continuing until the end of the academic year.

The responsibilities of this SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Provide support for children with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and SEMH
  • Assist teachers with the delivery of the National Curriculum across KS1, KS2, and EYFS
  • Implement tailored interventions to meet the individual needs of children
  • Support children with challenging behaviour in a positive and nurturing way
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and SEN coordinators
  • Monitor and record pupils' progress to support their educational goals

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience as a SEN Teaching Assistant in a UK Primary School
  • Experience supporting children with Autism, ADHD, Challenging Behaviour, and SEMH
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum across EYFS, KS1, and KS2
  • A relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
