SEND Teaching Assistant

Job Description

We are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant role to work in Lichfield at a 2-form entry, “GOOD” Ofsted-rated Primary School. This Teaching Assistant role will involve working on a 1:1 basis with a Year 5 child with ADHD and challenging behaviour.

Our client is looking for a candidate with experience supporting children with ADHD and challenging behaviour. Any additional qualifications relating to SEND would also be desirable.

This role will start in September 2026 and continue until March 2027. The working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm.

Required Skills and Experience for this Teaching Assistant role:

  • Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification
  • Good knowledge and experience of working with SEND
  • Experience working in Nurseries or Primary Schools as a Teaching Assistant or LSA
  • A DBS on the Update Service or issued within the last 12 months
  • A minimum of 2 excellent references
  • Recent UK school experience

Our client is based in Lichfield and offers onsite parking. The school can also be accessed via public transport from areas such as Burntwood, Tamworth, and Walsall Wood.

We are currently working with schools that require day-to-day Learning Support Assistants to help support their students and permanent teaching staff.
