SEND Teaching Assistant

Job Description

Flourish Education are recruiting a SEND Teaching Assistant to work in the Lichfield area at a 2-form entry, “GOOD” Ofsted-rated Primary School.

This role will involve providing 1:1 support for a Reception pupil with ADHD and challenging behaviour. The school is seeking a confident and experienced Teaching Assistant who can build positive relationships, implement behaviour strategies and provide consistent support tailored to the child’s needs.

The position is full-time, starting in April 2026 and continuing until July 2026, working 8:30am – 3:30pm.
 

Required Skills and Experience

To be considered for this Teaching Assistant role, you must:

  • Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 qualification (or equivalent).

  • Have good knowledge and experience of working with SEND, particularly ADHD.

  • Have experience working in Nurseries or Primary Schools as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant (LSA).

  • Hold a DBS on the update service or have one issued within the last 12 months.

  • Provide a minimum of two excellent references.

  • Have recent UK school experience.

Additional SEND-related qualifications are desirable.

  • Competitive salary – £88.92 – £100 per day (dependent on experience), equating to £17,940 – £19,500 per annum based on working five days per week for a full school year.

  • KCSIE-compliant safeguarding and Prevent Duty training, including modules relating to legislation, FGM and abuse.

The school is based in Lichfield and offers on-site parking.

We are also currently working with schools across Cannock, Tamworth and Stafford, who regularly require day-to-day Learning Support Assistants to support their pupils and permanent teaching staff.
