Job Description

Flourish Education are looking for a caring and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Nuneaton from September.

This role will initially run until January, with the potential to extend, and would suit someone with previous experience supporting children with Autism and additional needs, particularly within a resource base or specialist setting.

You will support pupils on a 1:1 and small-group basis within the school's dedicated Autism Resource Base, helping them access learning, work towards individual targets and develop their communication, social and emotional skills.

Some pupils are non-verbal, so Makaton Level 1 would be an advantage but is not essential. Personal care may also be required.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support within the resource base
  • Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation
  • Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs
  • Deliver personalised interventions and support strategies
  • Work closely with teaching staff and the SEND team
  • Promote pupils' confidence, independence and wellbeing

We're looking for someone with:
  • Experience supporting children with Autism and additional needs
  • Previous experience in a UK primary school or specialist setting
  • A patient, nurturing and consistent approach
  • A good understanding of SEND support strategies
