Flourish Education are seeking an SEND Teaching Assistant to support within a 2-form entry, ‘Good’ rated Primary School in Gloucester. This school operates using the ‘Thrive’ approach, this approach supports both pupils and employee’s mental health and supports children with behavioural difficulties and low attendance within the school.
Our client is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support a child on a 1-1 basis with complex needs and challenging behaviour, this would be a long-term, full-time role starting immediately until the end of the academic year.
The Responsibilities of this SEND Teaching Assistant Role, include:
- Support children with complex needs and challenging behaviour across Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2)
- Work closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored support for individual students
- Assist in the planning and delivery of engaging lessons within the National Curriculum
- Provide additional support in both small group and 1:1 settings
- Promote an inclusive and positive learning environment, ensuring each child’s needs are met
Required Skills and Experience:
- Previous experience as a SEND Teaching Assistant in a Primary School is essential
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum and Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2)
- Experience in supporting children with special educational needs, complex needs, and challenging behaviour
- Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Education
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
