This SEN Teaching Assistant role provides a chance to make a significant impact on children's learning in a supportive environment.
As a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support children with special educational needs, particularly ASD, across Key Stage 1 (KS1), Key Stage 2 (KS2), and Early Years (EYFS). You will work closely with teachers and the SENCo to adapt and develop IEPs and EHCP to deliver targeted support to pupils.
This role is full-time, long-term, starting ASAP and continuing until the end of the academic year. This role provides an opportunity to work in a dedicated SEN environment.
The Responsibilities of this SEN Teaching Assistant Role:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASD.
- Assist in planning and adapting lessons to meet individual needs.
- Work across EYFS, KS1, and KS2 classes to support SEN pupils.
- Collaborate with the teaching team to implement effective behaviour strategies.
- Help children achieve their full potential in line with the National Curriculum.
Required Skills and Experience:
- To hold a relevant Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
- Experience working in a UK Primary School setting.
- Knowledge of SEN, particularly ASD, and effective support strategies.
- Familiarity with Key Stage 1 (KS1), Key Stage 2 (KS2), and Early Years (EYFS) curriculum.
- A strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection policies.
