Job Description

Flourish Education are currently recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to work in a large Primary School in Rowley Regis. This school have SEND provision, including a hub, which contains a SEND Teacher, who plans individual activities for pupils based on the action plans and EHCPs of each pupil and SEND Teaching Assistants who support on a 1-1 or small group basis.

Our client is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support in their hub, responsibilities of this role include working with small groups of pupils or on a 1-1 basis, who have SEND needs including children who have autism, ADHD and Speech and Language disorder, supporting children with personal care and feeding and assessing and reporting progress in line with their learning goals.

This role is a full-time position, due to start immediately and is expected to continue until July but has potential to continue into the new academic year.

To apply for this, SEND Teaching Assistant role you will require the following:

  • To hold the relevant Level 2 or above Teaching Assistant Qualification
  • Experience supporting children who have SEND (preferred if you have worked in a specialist SEND provision)
  • Commitment to this long-term position.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service or issued in the last 12 months,
  • An excellent reference from a school.

Responsibilities of this SEND Teaching Assistant role:

  • Supporting pupils with SEND, including Autism, ADHD and Speech and Language.
  • Reporting to the SEND Teacher and SENCO regarding progress in line with the EHCP and action plan.
  • Ensuring that safety is maintained within the school.
  • Building trusting relationships with SEND pupils.
  • Supporting pupils with personal care and eating.

  • Competitive Salary – between £85.02 to £98.41 per day depending on experience, which equates to £16,578.90 to £19,189.95 per annum based on working 5 days a week for a full school year.
