Flourish Education are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant to join an Outstanding Primary School in Selly Oak. This school sets high expectations for themselves, staff, families and pupils, encouraging them to be happy, caring and aspirational citizens.

Our client is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support a child in Year 6 with ADHD on a 1:1 basis. This child needs additional support staying on task, and takes regular brain breaks outside of the classroom. This child has never lashed out towards staff but can become defiant and frustrated at times. This role would be ideal for a patient and understanding person who is able to set boundaries well.

This role is an afternoon only role starting ASAP and continuing for the full academic year.

The Responsibilities of this SEND Teaching Assistant Role:

  • Provide 1-1 support for a student with ADHD.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning plans.
  • Support students with their academic, emotional, and social development in a Primary School setting.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour support as a TA.
  • Collaborate with the wider school team to ensure the best outcomes for students.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Must have previous experience working as a TA in a UK Primary School.
  • Experience working with SEND children is essential.
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum for EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
  • A Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Teaching Assistance or equivalent.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Working as a SEND Teaching Assistant for Flourish Education also offers you other excellent benefits, including:

  • £85.02 to £98.41 per day, which equates to £16,578.90 to £19,189.95 per annum, based on working 5 days a week for a full school year.
